My Chloe was an old lady when we welcomed her into our home and hearts. It speaks to her sweet spirit that after so many years of abuse that she would come to love and trust us. She loved lying in the warm sun on the deck and helping Gary go get the mail down the street. She was so very happy to have a soft comfortable bed of her own (well, 3 actually). Any treasures she would find would always be taken straight to her very own place. She loved going to the store to pick out her own antlers and then chew them on the wood floor for maximum resonance. She loved “helping” me cook in the kitchen and get ready for work at the counter in the bathroom. She was my shadow. She was a joy to me. My heart is broken without her. I tried to make up for all the years she lived without a kind hand or loving heart in her life. She deserved the best life she had left to live. I love my Chloe…I so look forward to getting to love on her again some day.
